Heroic teams

Favourite Mage Knight Dungeons teams that saw tournament and head-to-head play.

These are some of Ibson’s favourite heroic teams—good, bad, and battle-tested in sealed or head-to-head tournaments.

Korak’s Klan

Mage-king Alment Lan12366813110
Joram Hawklord12268714210
Barber Hurgg1216881428

The three figures with Magic Enhancement can stand next to Jess, letting him fire at three figures for four clicks each. The Mage-king can Magic Blast for at least three clicks with Barber and Joram beside him; Joram can do the same when he reaches level three. Watch out for Magic Immunity.

Random tournament team

Sunbane232861116310
Astrus2317101115210
Maboc the Bully2308891640

These three came from a random-hero tournament. Maboc’s Force March worked well with Sunbane as the pair leap-frogged ahead. Opening chests was a challenge, but the team took only two traps from eight chests. Astrus reached fourth level and Necromancy in every round. The team won the tournament—though Ibson was sure even better three-hero teams were out there.

Close but No Cigar

May 15, 2008

Jarl Frostriven, Mage-king Alment Lan, Hazna, and Barber Hurgg form a strong short-range team designed to get close without making contact. Played properly, the group can shoot four times in a turn. Its biggest weakness is speed; move the group steadily and send Hazna ahead on surveying missions.

007

April 4, 2008 · Dedicated to Sean Connery

Council Lord Jamus, Sunbane, Rivvenguard Jaysa, and Barber Hurgg make up this themed team. Jamus is the assassin, Jaysa guards his back, Sunbane brings heavy magical firepower and Necromancy, and Barber supplies healing plus another Magic Enhancement.

Maren’kar’s Mates

March 4, 2008

Maren’kar, Astrus, and Spiritcatcher combine Flame/Lightning, healing, thieving, Magic Enhancement, and Necromancy. Arman Gessep is the suggested alternate when Spiritcatcher’s changing dial proves too challenging.
